Birthday dinner at Novikov

Birthday is a special day for every person. At least one day a year you can feel yourself so exceptional 🙂 For me this day is like a summary for the previous year, to contemplate what has been done, achieved or not. The more years of your life you count, the more you realize how fast the time flies. Every year it speeds up.

For my twenty-something year`s birthday dinner I have chosen one of my favourite restaurants in Dubai – Novikov in Sheraton Grand, Sheik Zayed Road.

The restaurant was open in 2015 by Arkadiy Novikov, bringing the concept to Dubai from Moscow and London. Cuisine is Asian fusion, which I love for being kind of “Europeonized Asian”. Variety of sushi – any kind is super special, not like anywhere in the city.

The greatest part of the restaurant – fresh seafood market. Spectacular choice of seafood to be deliriously prepared to your table. This time we have ordered Portuguese carabineiros  and Portuguese pandora with shrimp fried rice on a side. I have chosen my favorite white wine – Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough New Zealand.

As for the birthday cake – a huge chocolate brownie. Me and my friends couldn`t resist with such a delight. Even for all of us deserts are forbidden products , the sweet part of the soul took over the brain. As someone said:

Desert doesn’t go to the stomach. Desert goes to the heart.

I completely  agree 😉

It was really happy day and evening! Thanks to all my people for the warm congratulations!

Overall the restaurant experience was excellent. It was not my first dinner at Novikov and I was confident that I have made the right choice for my birthday. This fine dining venue is quite expensive, though it is worth for its quality.

Recommended for celebrations, romantic dinner, best sushi, seafood.
